Rimsky-Korsakov explores vivid contrasts and combinations of sound in his Cappriccio espagnol, which builds to a thrilling finish. Soloist Chee Yun will display her flawless technique and charismatic presence on Lalo's sparkling Symphonie espagnole. And this evening of vibrant musical postcards closes with two Spanish composers – Joaquín Turina and Manuel de Falla – whose dance-inspired pieces evoke the distinctive regional flavors of Spain.
