Nashville Symphony | Giancarlo Guerrero, conductor
A symphony must be like an entire world; it should contain everything." – Gustav Mahler
Mahler’s Seventh Symphony makes good on that promise.
A journey from night to day across five vast movements, it begins in shadow and mystery, moves through a dance Mahler himself described as ghostly and sinister, and then into an intimate nocturnal serenade where guitar and mandolin shimmer inside the orchestra's enormous sound, before the finale erupts into the blazing light of day.
Maestro Giancarlo Guerrero, who has made Mahler a cornerstone of his legacy with the Nashville Symphony, conducts.
