PERFORMERS
Nashville Symphony | Giancarlo Guerrero

  • Program highlights two iconic musicians known as both composers and conductors — Gustav Mahler and Esa-Pekka Salonen, former music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
  • Mahler’s music is one of Giancarlo Guerrero’s passions and specialties. His symphonies are epic in scope, and this one opens with a memorable passage featuring principal trumpet player Jeff Bailey.
  • Violinist Jennifer Koh is the featured soloist on the Salonen. She’s recognized for her intense, commanding performances, delivered with dazzling virtuosity and technical assurance.

Learn more about the music you’ll hear onstage at our FREE Classical Conversations with Maestro Giancarlo Guerrero, taking place one hour before the concert every evening in the Balcony Lobby.

Following the concert, Maestro Guerrero will lead an informal Q&A at the back of the concert hall, on the Orchestra Level.
