Second Violin

From the Coconut Grove with the Rueben Fantoni Tango Orchestra, to Carnegie Hall with the Nashville Symphony, and the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Kenny has seen and done a lot in the music world.

He received a Master of Music degree from USC in 1979, where he was named “Outstanding Chamber Musician.” After graduating, he stayed in Los Angeles - performing in the recording studios, playing Muzak, cartoons, film, and horror movie scores. As a member of the Long Beach Symphony, he was Assistant Principal, and Acting Principal Second violin for nine years. While freelancing, he frequently performed with the LA Chamber Orchestra, the LA Music Center Opera, and the LA Master Chorale.

In the 1990s, he played with various Midwestern regional orchestras, while maintaining a working relationship with both the Chamber Orchestra and the Opera. In 1994, he was personally invited by conductor Helmuth Rilling to participate in the Internationale Bach Akademie. Kenny was a member or the Oregon Bach Festival for 19 years, and was Assistant Principal Second violin for 18 of those years.

Kenny has been a member of the Colorado Music Festival, the Peter Britt Festival, and the Des Moines Metro Opera. He has been a member of the Nashville Symphony since 1999.
