Jerry has played on thousands of recording sessions in a huge variety of styles and contexts and in so doing rubs shoulders with and learns from some of the greatest musicians on the planet.
While writing Film and TV sync music for WarnerChappell Production Music, Jerry came to Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music in 2005 to study Orchestration with the esteemed Michael Kurek. Recognizing the need for a Jazz guitar teacher to augment the then nascent Jazz program begun by Billy Adair, Jerry began teaching at the Blair School in 2006 with the blessings of then Dean Mark Wait.
Jerry has a long standing working relationship as guitarist and music director for Nashville legend Ray Stevens, in addition to which he is one of a handful of fine guitar players on the sub-list for the Grand Old Opry Staff Band. In 2024 Jerry was privileged to perform The Bluegrass Mass with the world-class musicians you will hear tonight as they accompanied the Nashville Symphony Chorus at Carnegie Hall.
A member of the 2014 class of Leadership Music where he serves on the community service board, Jerry is also on the Executive Board of the Nashville Musicians Association, AFM 257.
