Nashville Symphony’s Free Day of Music Set for October 22

11th Annual Event Features More Than 20 Performers on Four Stages
 
Nashville, Tenn. (August 31, 2016) – The Nashville Symphony has announced the lineup for its 11th annual Free Day of Music on Saturday, October 22, at Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
 
Showcasing more than 20 different artists in an array of genres, including classical, country, rock, jazz and world music, Free Day of Music will kick off at 11 a.m. and run though 9 p.m. Performances will take place on four stages located inside and outside the Schermerhorn.
 
The GRAMMY® Award-winning Nashville Symphony headlines the event with a noon performance in Laura Turner Concert Hall featuring works by Beethoven, Dvořák, Copland, Prokofiev, Gershwin and Williams.
 
Other highlights include:
  • “Meet the Conductors” Q&A session with Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero, Associate Conductor Vinay Parameswaran and Interim Chorus Director Tucker Biddlecombe (1 p.m., Curb Family Music Education Hall)
  • Andrew Risinger performing on the Schermerhorn’s breathtaking Martin Foundation Concert Organ (6:15 p.m., Laura Turner Concert Hall)
  • An outdoor evening performance by Music City Swing (7 pm, One Symphony Place)
  • A Kids’ Zone featuring the Symphony’s Instrument Petting Zoo, arts and crafts and more (1-4 p.m., East Lobby)
