Nashville, Tenn. (December 3, 2015) – Sylvia Bradbury and Suzanne Smothers, co-chairs of the 2016 Nashville Symphony Fashion Show, have proudly announced that fashion icon Carolina Herrera will be the featured designer for the 11th edition of the annual event. Academy Award-winning actress, film producer and philanthropist Nicole Kidman will serve as honorary chair.

Presented through a partnership between the Symphony, Carolina Herrera and Gus Mayer of Nashville, the show will take place on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

The 2016 Symphony Fashion Show will celebrate Herrera’s storied 35-year career at the helm of her eponymous label. Establishing a globally recognized style, Carolina Herrera has proved with each new season that effortless elegance paired with modern refinement is always relevant. Year after year she built her business, ignoring the trends of the moment, guided solely by her own impeccable taste.  Her designs combine simplicity with sophistication, effortless elegance with painstaking craftsmanship, and modern refinement with timeless grace, enriching everyday life with just a touch of fantasy. Today she commands a fashion empire with over 15,000 points of distribution in 105 countries. Finding resonance on the runway, down the aisle and on the red carpet, Carolina Herrera has always designed with a modern and confident woman in mind.

"The Symphony Fashion Show is one of the most highly anticipated social events in Nashville, and featuring a glamorous label and designer of Carolina's talent and stature ensures that this year's show will be a can't-miss evening of fantasy and sophistication, one of the most memorable and exciting ever," said Bradbury and Smothers. "We are honored that Carolina Herrera has chosen Nashville and the Symphony Fashion Show to help commemorate her extraordinary 35th Anniversary year, and we are thrilled to showcase her exquisite Fall 2016 runway show in April."

“The Nashville Symphony does an extraordinary job educating thousands of children through their music education and community engagement programs,” said Carolina Herrera. “Their focus on delivering creative and innovating art is an inspiration to every creative industry.  I am thrilled to show my Fall 2016 collection at the annual fashion show in April and contribute to this amazing community.”

Bradbury and Smothers also revealed that the Symphony Fashion Show Patron Party will be hosted by Governor Bill Haslam and First Lady Crissy Haslam on April 25, 2016 at the Governor’s Residence in honor of Carolina Herrera’s visit to Nashville.

Proceeds from the Fashion Show help support the Nashville Symphony’s education and community engagement programs, which annually provide more than 100,000 hours of free service to children and adults throughout Middle Tennessee through concerts, classroom curriculum guides, instrument instruction, scholarships and more.
