Trey Jacobs

High School Choral Conductor

Trey Jacobs is the Director of Choral Studies at Nashville School of the Arts. He received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University, a Master of Music degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from East Carolina University.

Prior to moving to Nashville, Jacobs served as the Artistic Director for the Dallas based Turtle Creek Chorale from 2011 to 2014.  The Turtle Creek Chorale, a 225 voice men’s chorus has performed extensively in the United States and Europe.  Mr. Jacobs was the Assistant Professor and Director of Choral Activities at Eastern Michigan University and the Director of Choral Activities at Winter Park High School in Winter Park, Florida for 11 years where he conducted his choirs on three occasions at Carnegie Hall.

Mr. Jacob’s choirs have performed for three American Choral Directors Association State Conventions the National A.C.D.A. Convention, and various state choral festivals consistently receiving superior ratings.

Mr. Jacobs was a founding director of the Orlando Children’s Chorus in Florida, co-conductor of the Bach Children’s Choir at Rollins College, conductor for the Orlando Concert Chorale, and conductor of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s Holiday Choir. 

In addition, he has conducted All-State and Honor choirs in the following states, Florida, Georgia, Washington Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas. Mr. Jacobs is also a five-time CMA Music Teacher of Excellence recipient for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
