John Maple

First Violin

Violinist John Maple, a native of Oak Park, Illinois, joined the Nashville Symphony in 1984 after completing a Bachelor of Music degree at Indiana University, where he studied with Henryk Kowalski. John has performed with several orchestras, including the Alabama Symphony, the Chicago Symphonietta, the Northwest Indiana Symphony and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. He has also participated in the Spoleto Festival and the Bear Valley Music Festival in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. He occasionally plays chamber music at various churches around Nashville. A fitness addict, John enjoys competing in Masters Swimming meets and local triathlons.
