Duruflé - Requiem
Brahms - Piano Concerto No. 2

Brilliant and bursting with lyricism, Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 is also a genuine achievement — a monstrously challenging work that demands precision, intensity and sheer stamina from the soloist. If anyone can master this piece, it’s Jonathan Biss, one of the greatest pianists working today. The 150-strong voices of the Nashville Symphony Chorus will join the orchestra to perform Duruflé’s inspiring Requiem, which infuses centuries-old Gregorian chant with the French composer’s impressionistic sensibilities. The result is a work of transcendent, otherworldly beauty.
