Celebrate the arrival of spring at this concert of inspiring choral music. Based on poetry by Pablo Neruda, Samuel Barber's The Lovers is one of the great pieces of American choral repertoire, receiving its first full performance in nearly four decades. Featuring baritone Jeffrey Williams, this lush, sensuous work will also showcase the glorious sound of the orchestra and chorus. No choral concert would be complete without at least one work by the great Johann Sebastian Bach, and the program closes with excerpts from Czech composer Smetana's The Bartered Bride, featuring students from the Nashville School of the Arts.
Voices of Spring is free and open to the public, but you must have a ticket to attend.
