The Manhattan Transfer Swings Christmas
Friday, December 5, 2014, 8:00 p.m.
Schermerhorn Symphony Center
The Manhattan Transfer
Presented without orchestra
The beloved vocal quartet makes a stop at the Schermerhorn ready to deck the halls, trim the tree and sing all the Christmas songs that make you feel warm and fuzzy! Enjoy holiday cheer and cool jazz tunes with some of the finest singers ever to grace the stage.
Vocalist Trist Curless will perform with the group in the spot left vacant by founding member Tim Hauser, who passed away on October 16. Curless co-founded the pop-jazz vocal group m-pact, with which he has performed in festivals and concert halls around the world. He's also written, arranged and produced many of the group's songs. Trist can be found on the other side of the microphone as well, working as an audio engineer for several vocal groups and bands, including Straight No Chaser, Pentatonix, and Take 6.
The Manhattan Transfer, founded by Tim Hauser, will celebrate his memory, the music he began, and his wonderful, timeless contributions through the performances upcoming.
