  • History in the Making – the orchestra will record Rouse’s Ogoun Badagris, a heavily rhythmic piece inspired by Haitian voodoo rituals.
  • Cellist Johannes Moser will perform on two works. The first is Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, which is full of lush, romantic melodies.
  • Moser will also perform on contemporary Mexican composer Enrico Chapela’s innovative Magnetar, Concerto for Electric Cello, which combines a specially made electric cello with guitar pedals for some truly stunning effects — it’s a truly one-of-a-kind musical experience.
  • The Copland Symphony will showcase the incredible sound of the Martin Foundation Concert Organ surrounded by the full orchestra.

Learn more about the music you’ll hear onstage at our Classical Conversations with Maestro Giancarlo Guerrero, taking place one hour before the concert every evening in the Balcony Lobby.
