  • Israeli-born musician Pinchas Zukerman is renowned worldwide as one of the great violinists of the past 40 years. He’s a true classical music superstar, and this will be his first appearance with the Nashville Symphony since 1999.
  • Zuckerman and Concertmaster Jun Iwaski will both be featured on the Bach Concerto for Violins.
  • Zuckerman will solo on the Mozart Violin Concerto (popularly known as “Turkish” because of its exotic melodies) and the Elgar Chansons, while conducting from the violin.
  • Elgar’s Chansons are intimate in scale, with contrasting characters of night and day. The Enigma Variations is one of Elgar’s best-known pieces, a series of vivid musical character sketches of the people closest to him.

This concert is presented as part of Violins of Hope, a citywide dialogue about music, art, social justice and free expression. Learn more here.
