Nashville Symphony
Edo de Waart
, conductor
Michael Ippolito – Nocturne, for orchestra
Mozart – Symphony No. 35 “Haffner”
Rachmaninoff – Symphony No. 3

Hear two classic symphonic works by Mozart and Rachmaninoff, led by one of the world's most esteemed conductors, Edo de Waart.

  • Originally written as a serenade, Mozart's Symphony No. 35 is a festive work, with an exhilarating mood.
  • Full of gorgeous melodies, Rachmaninoff's Third Symphony encompasses moments of nostaligia and optimism, with the composer's distinctly Russian sensibilities.
  • American composer Michael Ippolito's colorful Nocturne is inspired by the art of Joan Miró.

Our free Classical Conversations take place one hour before all Classical Series evening concerts in the Balcony Lobby. Led by conductors, guest artists and musicians, these informative talks are a great way to learn the story behind the music.

An informal question-and-answer session with the conductor will take place 10 minutes after the close of the concert, at the back of the orchestra level.
