The Nashville Symphony bass section offers a rare opportunity to hear why it really is all about the bass. All seven members of the section will play together, as well as in various solo and ensemble configurations, on works ranging from Renaissance to modern. Featured composers include Ernest Bloch, Astor Piazzolla, Luciano Berio, Hans Werner Henze and Enrique Granados.
The bass that was played in the Nashville Symphony's recent Violins of Hope concerts will also be featured. This instrument was played in the Krakow ghetto by Leo Rosner, who along with his brothers was saved during the Holocaust by Oskar Schindler.
