British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor joins your Nashville Symphony for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2. This early triumph shows Beethoven moving past the influence of Mozart and forging his own original, dramatic flair. "Grosvenor delivers virtuosity beyond his years," says the L.A. Times. "If you haven't heard him, hear him now." Written during World War II, Vaughan Williams’ Symphony No. 5 is possibly the British composer's finest achievement, suffused with music of beauty and lushness, including quotes from beloved hymns.

  • Enjoy this Spanish/Latin-themed concert, packed with fantastic showcases for the musicians of your Nashville Symphony.
  • History in the Making – Virtuoso guitarist Jason Vieaux will perform and record Leshnoff’s Guitar Concerto, a showcase that draws on both classical Spanish guitar and the composer’s own deep Jewish spirituality.
  • Ravel is one of the great orchestrators — a composer who knew how to bring out rich colors and textures through his use of instrumentation. Le Tombeau de Couperin is a Baroque-inspired piece for a smaller orchestra, while Rapsodie espagnole is a Spanish-flavored piece that captures the full scope of the orchestra.

Treats on Us! This Friday-morning series features FREE coffee and pastries at 9:30 am included with your ticket purchase. First come first served. Supplies may be limited.

Jonathan Leshnoff's Guitar Concerto was commissioned by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and co-commissioned by the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, the Nashville Symphony and the Reno Philharmonic.
