Eric Abramovitz

Assistant Principal Clarinet

Eric Abramovitz joined the Nashville Symphony in 2018. A native Montrealer, Eric obtained his B.Mus. at McGill University's Schulich School of Music, where he studied with Alain Desgagné, Robert Crowley, Simon Aldrich and Jean-François Normand. He then headed west for graduate studies at USCs Thornton School of Music with Yehuda Gilad. 

Eric was the first prize winner of the OSM Standard Life competition in 2011 and was a Sylva Gelber Career Grant recipient in 2016. He was named the CBC Next! Artist in 2013 and the Vandoren Emerging Artist of the Year in 2017. Eric has been featured as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the USC Symphony, the Quebec City Symphony and the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa. He has also performed with the Montreal Symphony and the Toronto Symphony, and he has toured throughout Japan with the New York Symphonic Ensemble.

In his free time, Eric enjoys playing hockey, shooting pool and spending time with his family and three cats.
