One of Beethoven’s late masterpieces, Symphony No. 8 is full of rambunctious, rollicking energy – classical music never sounded so fun! Be here to hear Thomas Hampson, the greatest baritone singer working today, perform the World Premiere of Richard Danielpour’s War Songs, which adapts the poetry of Walt Whitman. Hampson will also join the orchestra to perform Danielpour’s moving Songs of Solitude. The evening opens with Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, has inspired everyone from Richard Wagner to Radiohead.

NOTE: Due to the SEC Championship, there will be heavy traffic and road closures downtown for all three nights of this concert. Please allow sufficient time for travel and parking.
