An Acoustic Evening with LYLE LOVETT and JOHN HIATT On Stage Together
Wednesday February 11, 2009, 7:00 p.m.- Laura Turner Concert Hall
Lyle Lovett John Hiatt Concert performed without the Nashville Symphony
The Nashville Symphony is pleased to announce an acoustic evening with two of the world's most beloved singer-songwriters
-- Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt -- onstage together for one night only at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The two performed at
the Schermerhorn in front of a sold-out crowd with Joe Ely and Guy Clark for the "Songwriters Tour" in early 2007.
Lovett and Hiatt will trade songs, stories and quick-witted banter in what promises to be a special night of acoustic music
at the Schermerhorn. Both artists will perform side-by-side, alternating songs from their vast repertoires. Lovett is a tunesmith
in the great Texas tradition, setting his vivid tales of life and love against a backdrop of classic styles -- country, swing,
folk, R&B and rock 'n' roll. Hiatt is every bit his equal, with a distinctive growl and an unforgettable catalogue of songs
grounded in the rich soil of American life. Onstage together, they have a dynamic chemistry that will bring out all the humor
and poignancy of their finely crafted music.
