Lady Antebellum to Emcee Symphony Spring Fashion Show

February 18, 2009

Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum will add their star power as emcees and performers at the Symphony Spring Fashion Show, taking place on April 21 at Schermerhorn Symphony Center in downtown Nashville. This year’s event features the 2009 Fall Collection of internationally acclaimed fashion designer Monique Lhuillier, who is also attending the event. Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum recently wore a Lhuillier gown at the GRAMMY® Awards ceremony in L.A.

“We are thrilled to team up with the Nashville Symphony for this exciting evening,” said Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott. “Yes, I love Monique’s designs, but I also love the idea of helping make this year’s show the best yet.”

Just nominated for the Academy of Country Music’s Top Vocal Group award, Lady Antebellum has already earned the Country Music Association’s Best New Artist honor and the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Group honor in 2008. They recently scored two GRAMMY® nominations, including Best New Artist. Their music has been described as a blend of classic country, 1960s soul and the expressiveness of 1970s singer-songwriters, all presented with a contemporary edge. “Love Don’t Live Here,” the first single from their hit debut album, soared into the Top 5, and the follow-up, “Lookin’ for a Good Time,” reached the Top 15 on the country radio charts. Their videos have become a staple on CMT and GAC.

Hosted by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra League, the Symphony Spring Fashion show is being presented by Lhuillier and Gus Mayer, a luxury designer clothing store in Green Hills. The 2009 chairs are Lake Eakin and Lee Ann Ingram.

“This is wonderful news for an already amazing event,” co-chairman Lake Eakin said. Fellow co-chairman Lee Ann Ingram added, “With Monique already on board, the widespread interest in Lady Antebellum will help us raise the profile of the Symphony Spring Fashion Show even more.”
